Hey guys,
This is it! The first general meeting of the Spring semester. Important facts:
Date: Wednesday, January 25
Time: 7 PM
Location: VKC 101
We will be going over the events we have planned for these upcoming months, as well as more information about our exciting trip to Ethiopia and what we will be doing to fundraise for it.
To give you a sneak peak, here is some information about our first event of the year: A free film screening of Back Home Tomorrow, a documentary created by the medical humanitarian aid organization EMERGENCY. In “Back Home Tomorrow,” directors Fabrizio Lazzaretti and Paolo Santolini share the stories of two children affected by war to present the work of EMERGENCY. This film received the Cinereach Award for conveying vital messages through artful storytelling at the Human Rights Watch International Film Festival in 2009. For more information click here.
After the film screening, Anna Gilmore from EMERGENCY USA and the Keck School of Medicine will be speaking. This is a great opportunity to hear from an inspiring woman who has devoted her life to global health, and to learn about a wonderful humanitarian NGO!
Date: Wednesday, February 8
Time: 7 PM
Location: TBA, but there will be free SNACKS!
Hope to see you all at the meeting!
